When will these **** cravings for something sweet go away. The past few day they have been so bad! I would kill for something sweet right now!

We are all different but it never takes long. Try distraction, it worked for me when I had the cravings.

Munching on stirfried veg (broccoli, sprouts and cabbage) put my cravings in submission.
I still crave very very rarely if my bg is high. Over 7.8mmol/l for me.
Try and keep those bgs low/good. ;)

I have actually been living off stir fry since being diagnosed 4 weeks ago. My BG has been around the 7/8s since I started medication but today it was 6.1 It was 28 before diagnosis

Have you tried a few berries with full fat greek yoghurt? I started out with this for breakfast but changed it to having it like a pudding after my evening meal. I have, for instance, two strawberries and about four blackeries with a generous amount of the yoghurt. Sometimes I will use the frozen blueberries with some raspberries in the yoghurt and it is a little like ice cream. As time went on my palate changed and the craving disappeared. Hope this helps.

I find that if I have diet drinks like Pepsi they give me cravings. When I first started I used to take a bottle of mineral water and a pot of nuts everywhere with me. I was so used to having false hypos that I needed some snack foods as a support. Now I don't need the nuts and hardly ever snack. I also used to go for a walk if the munchies really got to me.

I also love full fat greek yoghurt and berries.

I love Greek yogurt so will try tht. I've only ever really drunk diet drinks so maybe tht isn't helping I will stick to water n see if tht helps

Don't feed the cravings with artificial sugar or regular. Have something like a bite of pickle or mustard. Turns off the sweet tooth. Sugar ( atificial or not turns on the sugar hormone)

Just keep off bread, rice, potatoes and pasta til these cravings go away.
Once you have constant 4-5s you shouldnt no longer get them. Perserver. They will go. And come back again but by using protein and veg it will go again. Have you tried protein bread for toast or a sandwich? Warbartons do one as do Morrisons, their own make.

My BG has been great today in the 5's today. I have been avoiding carbs but still really crave them. I got lower carb bread from tesco's.

Personally.. and this is only my opinion.. having substitute things really doesn't help. It's better to avoid eating bread in any form then you get it out of your mind. Likewise sugary sweet things whether made from real sugar or sweeteners won;t really help you over the cravings. That's my experience but each to their own.
