Hi all, just a quick question as I have been struggling to reach our DSN for nearly a week !!!! Doing good at mo most of F BM’s are well within normal limits but still struggling with breakfast. She on 25 Lev in the evening and we carb count and use nova for bolus her breakfast ratio is 1-5, 1-9 at lunch and 1-10 in eve. Most mornings F will go from 4 or 5 to 11-12 and sometimes 15 post breakfast. I have been told it is normal for teenagers to be very resistant to insulin the mornings; however if will increase her bolus she has major hypos mid-morning and increasing her lev just makes her hypo when she gets up. I should mention that the high does resolve very quickly without extra nova and is nearly always normal by lunch even with snacks in morning. So does anybody have any suggestions or do you think this might the best we can do until she finally stops growing.
On a personal note F will have been diagnosed for a year next week and just wanted to thank everyone on the forum the their help and support

Hi Shelly, what does she usually eat for breakfast that leads to the highs?

Hi Shelly,
No idea what time your daughter injects her bolus, so just a stab in the dark to consider. Have you tried a bolus 15/20 mins before breakfast? This might allow the insulin to peek at the same time as her cereal hits home.

Usually gives bolus just as she eats fine with other meals, but might be worth trying a litle earlier with breakfast thanks for the tip
