Hi I am new on here but I just wanted to check if any one knew what the safe levels are for type 2 diabetes

Hi and welcome. The general advice from NICE and others is to stay below 8.5mmol 2 hours after a meal on the meter or keep the HBa1C below around 6.5%

Thank you for the advice it was my husband was at 19.7 so was worried

What did he eat? does he have any other health problems? is he on medication what and how often

if you post the info loads of folks will be able to help you, start to keep a food diary so you can track his food intake and as you have a meter add in those readings to help you see what bounces him

He has heart problems so he is on heart tablets Glizaride, Metformin and Insulin
