my wife had pancreatic cancer 7 years ago, she had the whipple procedure removing part of her pancreas. She has now been diagnosed as type 1 but they are not sure how to treat it. We have an appointment next tues with consultant. However her blood is 15.9 tonight and ketone 0.2, she feels awful and has gone to bed and now asleep should I be concerned???

I am no doctor but would call 11, the NHS helpline, if I was worried. It's free and they will advise you.

Your wife's ketone level is nothing to worry about (I was told that 0.1 or 0.2 could be normal for me and those levels are nothing to worry about.

15.9 is a high blood glucose reading and this could be why she's feeling awful. However, her BG could be high due to some kind of infection and she's feeling bad because of the infection.

I think @Alison Campbell is correct and your wife will be told she actually has Type 3c.

Hi @Mikevictoria76 Welcome to the forum.

How is your wife this morning and how are her blood glucose levels ?
