I am so tired of chasing cure all formulas. I have been diagnosed with type2 and my glucose readings are all over the chart. I have been eating well and exercising, I don't want to be in this place!

Hi @Steve Goss and welcome!

Sounds like you’ve been diagnosed a little while and are testing your blood sugar levels.

What sort of readings are you getting and when you say you’re eating well, what does that mean? Could you give some examples of a daily menu? There may be some tweaks we can suggest. If you can also say whether you’re taking any medication for diabetes that would also be helpful.

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum. Most of us successfully control our blood glucose through diet. If you can tell us what you eat in a typical day, we can probably help.

Hello and welcome.

I just want to reassure you that you have found the best place to get advice and support for diabetics.

I agree that it sounds like you test your bloods frequently so you are already set up to make a change.

If you let us know what you eat we may be able to give some alternate suggestions.

I read around on this site after being diagnosed and rapidly came to the decision that I should dramatically reduce my carbs (to less than 20 grams a day) to see what effect it had on my blood sugar levels. The effect it had was to reduce my blood sugar levels so that they remain in the non diabetic range.

That said- be careful of artificial sweetener as some of them do not suit my body- they increase my blood sugar levels.

Many in the medical profession still advocate a 'healthy' diet including 'healthy' carbs- well for most diabetics carbs are not healthy- they turn to glucose and your levels rise. It is all carbs- not just sugars not just white carbs but all.

I understand not wanting to be in this space. I don't enjoy a low carb diet but it is good for my body- my blood sugars are good, I've lost weight without trying and my cravings are less intense when I stick strictly low carbs.

Good luck- read around this is an awesome site with very generous people who have been where you are now- I've seen the phrase part of a club no-one wants to join.

Good luck- ask questions read around.

Welcome!

Hey @Steve Goss ,

As has been stated, "eating well" may not be "eating well for a type two who can't process carbs like other people might be able to". https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html might give you an idea where things could be going wrong with your blood sugars, and how to fix it.

You can get a grip on those numbers, believe it or not. Just have to know how. And we're here to help, so you're not facing this alone, okay?
Good luck,
Jo
