I have diabetes type 2 and diverticulitis. Just spent a week in hospital where because I'd had a recent colonoscopy that showed nothing apart from above didn't seem worried by 6 days of poo n blood! Let me home 2 days ago, still bleeding but poos seemed to have stopped. However today started again and still blood on tissue although I have no piles. I thi k I'd like to try a liquid diet to see if this eases my stomach. Has anyone done this for similar. Ps hot severe stomach pain although most sites say that's unusual. Thanks in advance

Stupid question maybe, but are you on metformin? Blood and poo sounds like what I went through with that stuff. Any other medication? Start checking the leaflets for side effects.

And if it is the metformin, stop taking it for a few weeks (discuss it with your doc of course), let your gut heal, and go from there. https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html <-- this is what I did to manage my diabetes without medication, after metformin did basically what you just described to me. I'm not saying met is 100% certainly the cause... But it could be. And it's worth investigating because you don't want to feel like this.
