Hi, I am a type 2 diabetic on insulin 4 times a day plus metformin.

I have had a slight chest infection for the past week, but the last couple of days have been being sick countless times. I know have keytones, I saw the doctor on Friday who gave me antibotics, but I feel awful, my heart feels like it wants to jump out my chest, wobbly, hot, spoke to doctors on the phone today and said that I have now had keytones for 4 days and feel awful, told me just to keep on with the injections and antibotics.

Anyone got any other advice?

totally agree with the others - the docs need to take you seriously - also are you just injecting your normal amount of insulin? I'm type 1, not sure if it's different, but when I'm ill my insulin requirements can double. You don't say what insulins you take but if you are on basal/bolus then try whacking in some extra doses of short-acting insulin to try and bring yourself down to non-ketone levels.
Do you have a blood glucose meter? What readings are you getting? Are you permanently high, or are you flip-flopping between high and low?
