Hey all, just diagnosed

Hi all

Names Dave, 24, just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes today so still a little shocked. Just been scouring over the website and reading up on all the helpfull posts aswell.

Been put on metformin tablets and got my appointment with the diabetic clinic on monday. As a big guy who loves his food I can forsee a future on diet juice and low calories :lol:

So far I have lost allot of wieght and hopefully this will be the big kick to keep losing.

24 is nothing lad! stick in there you'll battle this and diet shakes aren't the only thing on the menu.

Hi Dave,

How big are you?

Do you have a family history of the condition?

It is really tough being diagnosed so young with what used to be considered a disease of late middle age.

If you love food, you can still have a great time. You just have to eat a bit differently from what you have been doing. Welcome to our forum.
