My name is paul.
I am 36 and contracted (is that the right vanacular?) type 1 in april 09..
I was 13 stone 8 and exercising 4 nights a week in succession at the gym at the time on a relatively hard programme...
I felt great then...

Now a few months on, have two HAb1C results that were 6. something and the feeling of welll being and energy i was promised is yet to mateialise.
I am now 15 stone and cant shift the weight.. Ive even ditched two nights at the gym for two nights kick boxing and the expanding waist line (gone to a 36"" waist after being 34"" for 10 years) has more then depressed me..

i thought I had taken to this pretty well, but this weight thing has crushed me..

I am advised by the GP to tell my care team I want some kinda weight loss pill as i have tried to reduce calories etc but i cant turn the tide...

still i dont have to pay for my prescriptions anymore and can use my little bouts of irratability as a system of the illness :)

how the hell can Steve Redgrave take on 9000 calories a day and still look like that!!

hya paul and a warm welcome to the forum,
have a good look around and you might find some answers, if you dont plz feel free to ask anything :D

Good luck
I've never been in a gym but the doctor has said I need 30mins good exerise 3 times a week. I'm trying brisk walks at dinner time when I stop the car for my lunch.
The doctor said my winter sports - snooker and dominoes don't count....

Hello

Ive got the HA1BC consistently at 6.0, yay!

but after taking orlistat since end of dec i dropped from 95 kg to 90 and am now back to 94 despite doing nothing extra and exercising even harder and cutting out what i felt were treats..

Thats a bummer but ive just completed DAFNE today and feel that I can make the changes I need to and try to tackle this in a different way!
