Hey marvellous people,
woke up this morning at with a bsl of 22, after taking a massive dose of short acting before bed because my bsl was at 25.
I'm struggling to keep things under control, I used to be much more onto it, but for the last 5 years or so I haven't managed to find the motivation anywhere inside myself. The breaking point is close, I can't keep having readings like this, Im terrified of complications, and I need support from the people who know. So my high reading this morning brought me here, blessings! Han

Aw, never good to reads someone is struggling with motivation. It might very well be you'll feel a lot better if you manage to get your bg a bit more in range. Problem of course is being fed up with diabetes won't make it any easier to handle your diabetes better so you'll feel better so it will be easier to deal with diabetes. It's a wonderful merry-go-round.
Could it be your basal dose is too low? When you get your basal right and manage to stay away from the more difficult to dose for foods for a while things might get a bit easier.
Good luck, and please keep on posting about your struggles and successes!

Hi. It does sound like your Basal dose is too low? Try to check whether your BS goes up or down whilst fasting for a few hours with no Bolus. This should tell you whether you need to change your Basal dose.
