Hey Folks! Type 1 for 7 years

Hi folks type 1 diabetic for around 7 years and tbh my control is pretty poor so hoping that talking with other diabetics on here will help with that plus feel a bit isolated in regards that I don't know anyone else who is type 1.

been Type 1 43 years myself and it is isolating at times -- i only know the people on here, real life T1's are harder to find --

Welcome to the forum @kenny85! I'm Type 2 but there are a lot of T1s on the forum, so you will get a lot of good advice and support on here.
I don't know any diabetics in real life either, so it does help me to feel less isolated to be on here.

Hi Kenny, hope you find the forum useful! Is there a particular aspect of your diabetes you don't manage that well or is it all a bit to pot? What kinda insulin regime you on?
You defo won't feel isolated around here everyone is lovely & helpful!

There are quite a few type 1s who post regularly. Before joining the forum I only knew one other type 1 and he had very poor control, so not someone to seek advice from.

Now I know loads of them and we're going to the pub on Saturday.

Hi @kenny85 Welcome to the forum. It can be a bit of a lonely existence when no one else can relate...but there is loads of support here from people who really get it...so ask away...or have a good moan if it'll help

Hi Kenny,

You certainly aren't alone, there isn't perfection with managing type 1, it's just making it work for you, so you have a good healthy complication free life. What aspects aren't working for you ? I only know other type 1's here, I know it can make you feel isolated at times, you're amongst friends here
