@Richmy, apologies if you have gone down this route, have you spoken to a physiotherapist about the types of exercises you can do? I have polyarthritis, which means none of my joints are free of arthritis and it includes my lumber and thoracic spine , so I understand part of your situation. It may seem like you are in an impossible situation as far as exercise is concerned due to your physical constraints and the pain that comes with it.
It certainly helps to exercise your muscles as they are the biggest users of blood sugars. I would consult a physiotherapist to see if your body can support some limited weight training. Everything helps. It’s a chicken and egg situation as muscles support joints , but your joints are too painful to exercise.
i’ve done 3 pain management clinics and cognitive behavioural therapy as i was SA i’m going to see a pain specialist at rvi in january i tried swimming but because i have cervical spondilosis i get trapped nerves in my neck and the pain is unbearableJust had another thought pain management clinics alongside physiotherapist can refer you for hydrotherapy can read a little about it or locate your nearest (registered option at https://www.swimming.org/justswim/find-hydrotherapy-pools/ tends to be very large waiting time for NHS hydrotherapy pools and can be trek to get to I do live fairly remote so perhaps you could have better luck
