Hi Folks

I've not been on here for a while as work has been nuts nuts nuts. I am still low carbing and my bg has been fine for the last few months, I go to the gym twice a week and am fitter than I have been for yonks.

I wondered if I could get a laymans idea on something if you can help. I read on here a while ago that it is the excess glucose that can be damaging to your heart by furring up the old pipes and not as is widley shouted fat.

Could someone tell me if using butter, cheese having the odd fry up etc is going to be as bad as loads of glucose for the old ticker.

Any help will be good help

Cheers gang

Hi.
When you have excess glucose circulating in the blood, it can potentially damage blood vessels, kidney function, the retina and general metabolic efficiency. I haven't seen where it 'furs ' up the arteries, however if someone has a contrary view, please post here.

As far as I am concerned the foods you mention are fine......in moderation. I wouldn't have them every day. I have had a Heart Op so I want to live to a ripe old age, and I may have reduced my carbs, but I don't eat high fat, nor saturated fats. Others I am sure, do differently.
