Hi all
My name is Hayley and I've been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for almost 12 years (diagnosed at 15).
I've been following on fb for a while but thought I might as well sign up as there have been some interesting posts/opinions.
I used to be a pretty badly controlled diabetic, with a hba1c of on average 11. I went on Brightons equivalent of the DAFNE course last October and my hba1c for the first time made it below 10, currently 6.9 however review due soon so that may change!
I'd be interested to know how people deal with sugar spikes due to adrenaline. I am a fan of "drifting" where you chuck a car sideways and slide a corner and noticed my bloods always go sky high. If I do a corrective dose they will subsequently crash.
Anyways enough of my ramblings!
Nice to meet you all
Hayley
