As you can see my name is Declan

I have been Type one diabetic for 10 years, what a 18th birthday present that was for me…

After a rocky start I have managed to maintain reasonable control of my condition, I have visited this forum for quite a while now and thought it was high time that I joined and said hi

Welcome to the forum, the best move you have ever made.
Ask any questions here. You can bet someone will have an answer. If we don't know we will find out for you.
You will be given lots of advice if you ask, which you have to consider and work out what is best for YOU.

I hope that I can offer some advice along the way…

One thing that attracted me to the site was the low carb method, as even though I do have good control of my diabetes, I have found that since I’ve stopped playing sport due to injury I have put on weight, so need to slim down by 2 stone…

I’m hoping that by reducing my carbs I can get back to my old weight, and again look forward to playing more sport again.

How did you get through with it all.
How do you cope?
I find it so confusing.

Welcome to the forum Johnny.You will find a lot of help and info on this forum.Have a read in the type 1 forum to start with.Ask us questions if you are not sure of anything.
