Hiya

Was diagnosed with T2 about 5 years ago. Years of ignoring healthy eating, too much time spent in pubs socialising and exercise was something others did led me down this path. Even after my diagnosis I kind of ignored it and carried on with a similar lifestyle. My attitude changed recently (last two years) though and with a diet and lifestyle change my sugars are under control (range 4.5 to 6.0). I'm targeting coming off Metformin as soon as possible. I'm really eager to learn as much as I can about self help and have spent the last two days soaking up the info on this site so thanks for the knowledge.

This really has to be one of the most informative sites I've come across. Good info and knowledgeable people makes for a strong combination.

Thank you

Welcome to my world!

With figures like yours I would be very pleased. The long term benefits of having controlled BGLs are amazing so keep with it and add to your knowledge whenever you can.

Without a doubt it is the best forum on the web John! :D

I am sure most of us at some time in our lives have followed a similar pattern and ate/drank without any consideration to our long-term health, but there comes a time when we realise that we cannot continue, and to do so would mean a early grave for sure.

Your diabetes range is excellent at 4.5 to 6, so keep it going and reap the rewards in the long term.
