Hi everybody, I am so excited

Sandy, how wonderful, is it a boy or a girl? I believe you said in an earlier post it was a standard poodle. I can't think of anything more special than the smell of new puppy breath, as they lick you to death as an expression of their unconditional love :) :) It will seem a long time to wait, my stepson has just collected his new puppy, after eight weeks of e-mailing me each day to tell me how much longer he had to wait :)

Sandy
that's
GRRREEATT!!!
Poodles are wonderful. They are so resposive and easy to train too.just never forget you have a hunting dog. They can chase smaller dogs, cats and squirrels. post us a picture ASAP please with all the details of him/her.
If your new baby enjoys training, you could try agility, which would be excellent for fitness for both of you.
All the best Hana
And the 3 Italian greyhounds, who have reservaions about poodles

Hanadr, your greyhounds would really disapprove of my little angel  the result of an unholy alliance between a Jack Russell farm opportunist and a friend's hot to trot poodle :) He has had the training of us for seven years now and we seem to be reaching his standard :? . The girl at agility has given up in despair, stating she wouldn't mind his defiance, but she couldn't take the contempt :D  . He no longer chases cats and hasn't done so since puppy days, when our old British Blue demontrated the number of sharp edges a cat has  but he is murder with the badgers, and always up for a bit of light bunny bothering!

He is a black standard poodle! I have waited a whole year for the breeder to have another litter!
A whole year waiting, at midnight he was born! I am so excited!
I have a full training book for dummies, one for poodles and one for grooming!
I have had to wait so long!
i have thought that by having him it would get me out walking more and train him maybe to do agility when he is a bit older!
I have bought him a white blanket to take photo's on! A dog bed and bowls already!
Oh there will be photo's as soon as i get him!
I am so excited! I beleive that before i get a dog i read up on them!
The poodles for dummies book tells me so much i never knew about the poodle breed!
I am lucky that the woman who breeds then lived not far off my mum! She is a wonderful breeder and if you want a holiday she will keep them with her for £10 a week!
She is great! I said i could wait! then i woke up this morning to a email saying congratulations, i have a black baby boy poodle born at midnight!
Is it to be your's!
Now that was a silly question! I answered back yes of course!

My dogs two sisters took after their mother, and when they were born they looked as if they had little black astrakhan coats on. [Don't know if you are old enough to remember astrakhan?] :) You've waited a year , you must be sooo ready for your pup by now! I read all the books before we had Chip, but I realised after 2 days he hadn't read them, and he had very different ideas to me on puppy rearing, it was an interesting first few months!

Hi Val
No i don't i have ever heard of that before!
Oh yes i am so ready for him! Thats the thing a pup never reads the books...Lol
I am so exicited! I have waited such a long time! The mum is beautiful she is a real stunner!
That is why i have waited! Oh i just can't wait! I know that is just under 2 months but seems like such a long time after waiting for a year!
she promised me the pick of the litter, but when i heard that the black male was born it was like something clicked and said that is the one!
xrs said i deserve to have the pup as i have held on so long for him!
I am so excited!
Sandy

Sandy, there's one thing for sure, I doubt if ever a little pup was so wanted :D , if he did but know it I should think he's landed in God's pocket! We were the same when Chip was born, everything ready, a basket he never slept in, because it was so easy to get someone to pick you up and put you on a sofa  , a host of toys he had eaten before we knew it. He has given us so much pleasure over the years :D .
Val

What a joyous event to look forward too. I love all dogs but poodles are great little dogs. Will love to see the photos.

Hi Val
oh he is so wanted! i wish i could bring him home now! I know i can't but it is so exciting! been out planting a couple of trees today in back garden! managed to cut grass while i was at it!
fiancee hung a new shed door just to be safe! oh i have removed anything dangerous! fiancee said much more excitment and i will explode!
Oh that will be so messy!
I just can't wait! she said the minute he open's his eyes photo coming my way!
oh wow she says he is beautiful!
his mum is so graceful! his dad is beautiful as well!
sandy

Hi Sandy, I can just see your face the first time the new boy learns to **** his leg, and waters the new trees  Our Chip was still bopping down like a little girl when he was a year old, and Rob used to get so worried. I think he was wondering about his manhood! The first day he cocked his leg they were out in Long Meadow [we live on a farm], and I heard Rob's shout of triumph from indoors  . Now get a grip, or you will wear yourself out, and believe me you are going to need your energy!
Val

I t things i had to do from last year!
fiancee had a severe crash last year drunk driver knocked him off his motorbike!
He broke nearly every rib on his back and all but 4 on his front!
he would not stay in hospital i had to nurse him better at home!
All the lighting him to sit stand etc! Then had to teach him how to rewalk! it was awful! he jokes about it now! But he doesnot want another motorbike! Not after seeing how scared i was when i saw the state he was in!
I was not able to get out last year in the garden! had to work hard to get it under some sort of control! We have a 50ft long garden!
i like having trees around! It seems weird that the grass grows so quick and the amount of trees that needed cutting!
I have a couple of plum trees and 2 apple trees! now i am planting some fir trees! Only got another 12 to plant but they can wait a few days!
The main bit of it looks better now!
It must be strange seeing a dog life its leg for the first time!
Fiancee used to have a golden lab bless him passed away nearly 2 years ago now of old age he was 15! He didnot even life his leg until he was 4 years old! he said he thought that there was something wrong with them! Until one day he did it out of the blue!
He said it was funny to watch!
Sandy

Thats wonderfull Sandy, just make sure you start using a cage for him from day one in the car and if left alone in the kitchen. Otherwise you might need a new kichen lol.

Hi janie,
He is having a harness for the car! As it will be easier to get in and out of car!
he will be going everywhere with us!
Fiancee says he will be spoilt! i said maybe he will but he will be well trained and well looked after! And he will know when i say no that means no!
He said yes i know that one! When you say no it stays no!...Lol
All because i said no to having the inlaws stay for three weeks! A week i could cope with pushing 2 weeks no way to three!
His dad is great! But his mum doesnot like me! She says i am faking the diabeties for extra attension! if that was only true!
I like his parents but three weeks would be way too much to handle! His mum is one of those who walk around and test to make sure you have dusted everywhere!
Oh i would be bald in under a week! I would of pulled my hair out..Lol
They are great though! I could push to 2 weeks!
He said only joking he could not cope for a week with his mum! As she reminds him to wash behind his ears every morning and night! Now that is funny to watch!
Sandy

Oh Sandy, you have had a rough year haven't you, :( I am so glad things seem to be looking up for you. You certainly deserve a few good breaks. I can't get out into the garden so easily now, but a young lad is reclaiming it after 2 years of neglect. Last week he found two garden benches, a statuette, and a table  , not that it's neglected you understand, lol. Partner in crime is not able to do anything as he has emphysema, and has severe breathing difficulties, not that he was much of a gardener before that, Chip loves it because it's full of oaks and sycamores and loads of undergrowth, a real snuffly garden. I bet your boy will be tearing around like a mad dog within days of getting home :)

They can chase smaller dogs, cats and squirrel

Maybe but watch out for this cat

I love my garden! I enjoy even if it is just walking around it! i am trying to make it more nicer!
As i hope that next year i can surprise the in laws with a surprise anniversary party! As they will of been married for 50 years next year! i thought that it would be nice for them to have a nice garden party with some of their friends!
I hope that JD will enjoy running his garden! He will more than likely look small in the garden!
I tried a new thing for tea tonight i made my own chicken chowmein,. without the noodles! Different but not as many carbs in it!

Love the cat graham! I will watch out for that one!
Sandy

Sandy, how kind of you to think of such a treat for your in-laws, it sounds as if your pa- in -law should be the one congratulated  I have a feeling your m-in-l and mine may have been related

hi Val
I asked him how he copeswith her! he said i turn my hearing aids off! just see her mouth move and peace and quiet!
he offered me £100 if i kept her here for a week! I thought no way! Hesaid howmuch?
i said if you are here then she can stay!
I watched him ignore her! when shewanted to talk i said i coulnot would you believe i had a hole to dig in the back garden!
