Hello. I’m new to this! I mean this web and the keto diet which I’ve been doing consistently the last month. I’ve been type 1 diabetic for the past 16 years, half of my life. Now I’ve diacovered this new lifestyle and want to follow it blindly. However, I’m experiencing trouble to stay in ketosis, eating zero carbs except when blood glucose goes down. The hypos don’t affect me as they use to thou. But I feel frustrated when my BG goes high and I need to use more insulin, for I read that high availability of insulin would kick me out of ketosis. I measure my ketosis with the BG meter adapted for ketones reading. Could anyone tell me if you’ve gone through this and how to approach it? I’m reading books, medical research on google scholar but still can’t wrap my mind around it. Would longer than 16h fasting be any help?
Thank you for your time to read this!
Oh btw, literally all I eat is avocados, eggs, coconut oil, some protein (which sometimes I use to rise my BG instead of having normal glucose) I think that I should lowered my protein intake though.
I look forward to hearing your opinions and approaches.
Best regards,
Ramiro Danza
