im new to your site . my son jake aged 5 was diagnosed last august . he is on 2 injections a day morning and afternoon , novomix 30 . when blood sugar high novorapid . were doing good not as stressed as i was when first found out . hes doing his own finger pricks but just gets the numbers mixed up when telling me, so i always double check . not doing own injections yet thats down to me . the will get the pen ready though so thats a start . anyway would love to here from parents of type 1 kids . :D
 
Welcome to the forum,Tracy,we can certainly use your experience!There are quite a few mums with newly diagnosed children on the forum who need all the help they can get.
 
I'm glad I'm not the only mum. Daughter age9 diagnosed three months ago. Problems with diagnoses as 12hours later started having violent epileptic fits (it never rains but poors). She has four injections a day, plus four lots of medication. I spend every lunch time at school to do injections.(school dinners look even worse than when I was in school). We are carb counting. Which is much easier than it sounds.

I Have found this site great help and suport. Hope you do too.

i have 3 kids only 1 diabetic . jakes only on 2 injections a day . school does blood sugars at dinner time and sorts out the hypo if there is one . were not carb counting yet but have been reading up on it and im not looking 4ward to that .anyway take care and hope 2 hear from you soon.
