Have been thinking of joining some kind of forum for a long while and have finally got round to it.
I've been a type 1 since around age 12, I'm now 22. Hba's have ranged from between 8-10 which I know isn't ideal, I wanted to enquire whether anyone knew whether it was possible to encounter long term complications between this range. Like most on this forum I'm sure, I can't deny going through quite a tough time physically and mentally over the years and my life style and commitments haven't helped the matter.
Something that scares me quite a bit is that I think I am 'fooling' the hba1c test. A lot of the time my blood sugar levels tend to be eratic- my blood monitors are littered with a range of high and low readings (i've come to the conclusion that perhaps this is because I only test when I feel high or low or when I really need to so they are all naturally going to be worse readings) so this results in an average which gravitates to a 'reasonable' range because of constant yo-yoing.
I am a uni student so life at the moment is pretty spontaneous and unpredictable, the doctor also agrees that most type ones he has seen get better after this stage in life.
Thanks for those who have read this!
