Hello all
I’m newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and had my first appt today (which was far briefer than I imagined!)
Sadly, the diagnosis was expected, I’ve been heading towards it for several years. Was pre-diabetic just before the Pandemic and I tried to really change things then. I even went to a Pre-diabetic group. However, as the lockdown went on and the group was cancelled for good, I just slipped back into old habits.
4 weeks ago my reading was 58 (so I drastically changed my diet - low carb/no sugar) and then the follow up reading 2 weeks later was 55.
At first I was really angry with myself for not heeding the warnings. But oddly, now I’ve been diagnosed, I actually feel slightly relieved and much more positive about handling this.
I’ve done really well too. Lost half a stone, cholesterol levels are really good, blood pressure is fine and none of the usual diabetic symptoms.
But in the past couple of days I’ve been feeling a bit hungrier and a bit bored of my diet.
Any tips for when these lulls happen and how to kick yourself back into a positive groove again?
Thanks in advance.
