Hi,
My son has been experiencing various symptoms lately which I have gone to the doctor about. He is almost 12 and slightly overweight for his age. Over the last year on and off he has been getting the following:-
Headaches
Nausea
Lightheaded ness
Heart burn
Joint aches and pains
Tinnitus
Tummy pains
Itchy bottom!
Constant hunger
Horizontal ridges on his nails
Feeling cold
I have googled all the symptoms and notice they can all be a sign of diabetes.
I have not noticed him needing the loo a lot or feeling thirsty though
The doctor has sent him for a blood test to check glucose and thyroid and when I called to see if the results were in I was told to book a “non urgent” appointment
Does anyone of older children recognise any of these in their child? Is it likely to be Tyoe 1 or 2 or even pre diabetes ?
I can’t think why the doctor would say it’s non urgent though?
I have to wait a week to see her and am worrying!
Thank you
Caroline
