i am asking these after the replys to make sure i took it in correctlly lol!! theres so much to take in and some of whitch is conflicting and comfusing me (doesnt take a lot to comfuse me haha)

hi Tolsn,

Without insulin or strong meds you are NOT going to end up having a proper hypo and ending up in hospital.

I have found a def get shaky on occaision if I've gone too long without food and I never had this before diagnosis.

Do you know why?

I never got to the point when I was properly hungry. I constantly topped up.

Since diagnosis I have controlled my food (carbs) lost 21lbs and have learnt to listen to when my body needs food.

When I have had these 'shakes' I have tested and I'm at around 4.9-5.6 ish, I guess in the past I never went that low? But by no means Hypo territory.

Keep at it

You've got it Toisn. And maryj describes it well. My daughter (non-diabetic) works outdoors as a biologist and sometimes goes long periods without food, doing lots of physical activity. She gets low blood sugar and gets the shakes, knows then it's time for something to eat or to ease up. But she won't end up in hospital. Trouble with us is, our body sees low blood sugar when we're about normal often because it's got so used to being high! Hence my comment not to leap for the food trough! I've measured 3.1 after lots of exercise and was fine.

ok this might be a stupid question!!
today i am feeling tiered like i did before been put on metformin on tues!
i started to feel good and not tiered but today seems to be back with avengous and my god i feels so tiered and sleepy! why do you think that might be??
(i did have a clear out yesterday and spent about 3 hrs tidying!!)

tolsn. I get the tired and sleepy thing but its gradually got better as I got things under control. Other things it could be are a vitamin B12 or vitamin D deficiency. Maybe ask your doctor to test for those.

Well went back to drs today (tues) and my blood pressure was sky high so was sent home and told to go back in hr so I did and was still raised but not as much so now dr has put me on amlodipine 5mg tablet one a day! Anyone else had this? Only got diagnosed a wk ago and now all hell seems to have broken out medically wise:/ :(

I do have blood pressure tablets but not those ones, had them b4 I had db

Not surprised your blood pressure is up!! with all the upheaval plus 'white coat syndrome' , keep an eye on it either at home or at the surgery, it may have been a temporary increase or may have been there in the backgroound.

Main thing is you are getting sorted!

Just a thought and don't stop taking the amlodipine unless you can prove it but are you sure it's not what's called "White Coat Syndrome". This is where your BP rockets when a doctor takes it because of the stress (realised or not) of having it taken! I get it to the extent that my BP can be through the roof 180+ at the surgery but measures fine when I take it on my cheap little OMRON MX2 monitor at home. The doc and I agreed a while back to calibrate my meter against theirs so I took mine into the surgery and proved we got the same results. I now always take my BP prior to going to the surgery and when it invariably shows a stupid high can tell them the real value.
