Hi I'm Ian
I was diagnosed as type 1 on 1st May, so the last month has been a rather rapid learning curve!
I'm 43, 6' tall, was 16st+ Christmas 2012, 15st Christmas 2013 and thought I was doing really well to lose a stone to 14st in 4 months this year,
alas it was the diabetes causing that last stone to fall off and I have now gone back to 15st in the 3 weeks I have been on Insulin.
My first BG test was 24.8 and the resulting HbA1c 105. I now realise this was 'not good!'
I've now got over the shock and 'Woe is me' of being diagnosed as diabetic and not going to let it get me down.
Training 3 times a week to do The Mudrunner Oblivion mud run at the end of June (hoping to shift that last stone the right way)
Cheers
Ian
