hi guys, i have been type 2 and in insulin for past 8 years and had great control while pregnant with youngest daughter and then all went to pot when i got post natal depression, and never seemed to get back in routine. 7 years later and i really need to get my finger out and get this under control, I have recently become seperated and moved into my own place with my kids. but even though that was a year ago i am still forgetting to take insulin mainly at night with running about with kids/ babysitters and work,. i am finding it really hard to get my early morning bloods, (when i remember to test) under double figures and i am due back for check-up next month,

does anyone else who does not have good control feels that they are crabbit all the time?, i know i do and wondering if it may be because my sugars are so high. i just fell like i can't be bothered with my diabetes and i know this is wrong, any ideas how i can get my mindset changed, i have enrolled in a pilot scheme education for type 2 using insulin but that is not till october.

sorry if i went on a bit thanks

Hi intervirgin,

If you can't remember your evening insulin can you not set an alarm to remind you?
I have my mobile phone alarm set at 11pm every night at which time it plays a Bon Jovi track (so not disruptive if you are in public) and when I 'ok' it it shows a photograph of my Lantus pen so I know what it is reminding me of.

Surely the thought of being able to enjoy your children growing up and seeing them through to successful adulthood would be incentive enough to try and regain control and look after yourself?

Keep posting on here to let us know how you are and if everything is okay. We are a friendly bunch

Regards
Angie

oh - grumpy !

Well high levels have always corresponded with me being bad tempered (I'm told). Apparently it's very easy to spot.
