Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed T2 9 years ago. I manage (in a fashion) with lifestyle and tablets. My levels are never brilliant but not downright awful..but have been to the edge a few times and been threatened with insulin.

I joined as I am fed up with myself lately as I loathe all the medication I am on (4 Metformin, 1 Jardiance & 1 statin a day). I had always considered myself healthy and active and I'd be hard pressed to take an aspirin so to take meds daily is such a pain. But I know others have far more things to contend with -testing etc.

So I am hoping to be inspired by you all (no pressure). I need to get back on track with my eating which is very scatty at the moment and to polish up my exercise. I did walk about 2 miles every morning, but have reduced that 2 days a week for various reasons. I go to yoga weekly, and swim intermittently. Have swum today and came home ready to eat the sofa !

I have brilliant diabetes care at my surgery, been on the courses etc. So I know what to do, but my motivation has lapsed so much of late and it depresses me so much.
Will have a good look about and see how you all inspire each other..considering low carb, but as my name suggests I am vegetarian - but eat cheese and eggs.
Thanks for reading you lovely souls

Hello and welcome. Have you seen the vegan and vegetarian section of the forum? Many vegetarian members have seen improvement in bg levels by sharing and imparting knowledge there. Have a wander around and ask as many questions as you like.

P.S. Sofas are known to be high in carbohydrates, don't do it !

Hi .
And a very warm welcome you have come to the right place it's amazing.
I have learned such a lot since my diagnosis last November and it is all thanks to this place. Take care Julie.

I was type 2 for 9 years before I discovered this forum and low carb. Was on lots of meds and next step insulin. Drastically reduced carbs and meds and get best bs levels ever. Must be a bit more difficult to go lchf as a veggie but I know a lot do. Best of luck.
