I made myself a curry tonite, fresh mince, olive oil, onions, mushrooms pepper 2 teaspoons of mrs pataks paste, and half a tin of tomatoes. I also made some chapati's using wholemeal flour and plain flour for the rolling out. I guess I had about 5 or 6 oz of the curry and 4 of the 6" half cooked chapaties, now 3 hours later my bg is 10.3, I thought that i would have a reading of 4.5 to 5.5 and I'm a bit worried, the same thing happened last week, I went to a veggies candlelit soiree, and had garlic bread, home made pizza and curry pie things, i wouldn't normally eat anything made with white flour, but I was starving and thought a little wouldn't harm me, but 5 hours later my bg was 9.9.

Do you reckon my diabetes is getting worse or is it a bad reaction to flour.

metfartin 500 mg *3

The pizza would be the cause of your BS going up even after 5 hours. The fat in the pizza slows down absorption and you take longer to digest it so your BS takes longer to go up.The flour based products would almost certainly put your BS up that high as well.

That's quite a lot of carbs. I'll put red on where carbs are lurking

AS far as BG is concerned, there's almost no difference between wholemeal and white flour. Combine it with fats and you just slow the digestive process and the spike takes longer to develop.
The only anti hyperglycaemics I can see on your list is Metformin and gliclazide, which can't handle huge doses of carbs. Most of the rest of your meds are for blood pressure and cholesterol.
If you want to eat those things, you have to have the tiniest portions or go on to insulin.

Sounds like all those carbs have overloaded you.

It could also be that you have or are about to get an infection, there seem to be some lousy coughs and colds about just now and anything like that could screw up your normal reactions

I am a type 2 diabetic and have been diagnosed for the past 2 yrs. I am currently on 3x500mg metformin SR daily, 2x80mg gliclazide daily, ramapril 5mg, symvastatin 20mg. I have recently put on weight nearly 2 stone, just tested my blood sugars some 3 hours after eating and my blood sugar is 17.9 should i go back to my doctor. I am also an obstructive sleep apnea sufferer and have been finding things difficult with my cpap of late could this also affect my sugar levels.

I would say yes on all counts.

Also whatever you ate to get that number I would make sure I never ate again!
