Hi everyone. I was diagnosed in 2012 as Type 1 after initially being mis-diagnosed as Type 2.

Popped on this forum at diagnoses and on and off over the years (lurking only). Only when I had a severe dka Christmas day 2017 following gastroenteritis, did I start reading the threads regularly again. I've lurked in the background since and found the information invaluable, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. What a lovely bunch of people you are and I feel I know the regulars so well now lol. Hope to speak with everyone soon now I have finally plucked up the courage after all these years. My numbers also need a bit of work so aiming to follow all this good advice in here

Thanks Prem :)

Hello @sunlover - the numbers can improve, it’s a marathon not a race as we say, minor tweaks and basal testing from time to time will help improve things, shout if you want any support at all :)

Morning @sunlover welcome back. I had a similar story was off here for a while, then had kick up bum from Dr & Dn so like you came back to where I know I can get help, support and advice from people that have ,"been there and got the tee shirt". Back almost a month on LCHF and feeling great, apart from a few niggles lol Best thing I ever did!!

Thanks guys..appreciated. due to other health issues currently being investigated I am a bit of a insomniac and tend to be on here early hours..thank God for this forum. Bluetit the dka was a game changer for me, had just come back from goa and was progressively getting worse..knew I was in trouble. Only due to reading of the symptoms on here did I have a inIklin what it was. Have to say the hospital staff were incredible, really listened to me ( when i was able to speak) and more importantly didnt take my meds or testers away. That offered the reassurance I needed.
