Hi There, New to Forum!

I have been type 1 for 2 years now! *weird* lol

Why don't you post your own topic in the "ask a question" section and ask if there are any Celiacs about? :) I'm sure people will be happy to reply!!!

It is understandable to get upset and angry about it all. I do all the time! Especially the "Why me" thing. No one in my family has diabetes so it would seem I am just unlucky lol. However it is something we have to get on with and try our best to control. My control still isn't perfect. I woke up with 11.8 today -_- Grumble. lol..

If you ever need to talk just feel free to PM me :D Always happy to listen to a rant :P

Thanks Krissy for your replys to my posts it's always comforting. Knowing your not alone and some one out there is listening. Wow 2 years now, have you found that it gets easier as you go along? What do you think or find to be your biggest problems/issues? I am also in the situation of being diagnosed especially at the age of 27 and yet no one in my family has history of diabetes and or Celiacs. So it baffles me how it all managed to land on me. :( And yes I often wonder how and ask the question why me? But I am just trying to keep going and learn to cope with what I have given the best way I know how. Thank you also for your advice about posting the question about the Celiacs. I will do so now an let you know how it goes. Also do you often find that your levels are around that mark or do you find that fluctuate a bit?
Sarah :)

No worries :)

Hmmm I wouldn't say EASIER, but you come to terms with it and control it instead of letting it control you..You get used to it.
I think my biggest issue is Carbs is my favourite food group lol. I don't think there is a carb I do not like lol!! I am getting better the longer I have it though :)

My levels fluctuate big time!! lol I vary from Hypo to the 30's (I have been known to forget after eating occasionally lol) It doesn't OFTEN go into the 30's but 20's is a bit more frequent than I would like... Once again I am getting better the longer I have it!! :D

How are you feeling since joining the forum? A bit less worried about it? Knowing there are people in the same situation? :)

G'Day Krissy,
I have found this forum extremely helpful, it's lovely to be able to talk to such nice people such as yourself. It's amazing how much it helps the mind when you see and feel that you are not alone and that others have or are going thru similar things to you. The information is also really helpful to it gives you things to think about and be able to see if what they are say can or would work for you.
I so understand the love of carbs thing, I was a big fan of breads and pasta ect. But it's one thing that will mess with the levels. One thing I used to do was to half my carbs at each meal and then I knew I was able to have another serving of nice carbs in one of my snacks. It help trick my brain to not eat so much at each meal and often I would get sick of eating carbs I would usually swap that extra serve I saved for something else. This helped to start to stabilise my levels in the beginning and help me not gain so much weight. A side effect of eating carbs and insulin. :( what types of insulin are you on if you don't mind me asking? Do you inject of have a pump? I am currently on injections but have seen lots of things in regards to the pumps, but not 100% sold on that way either.
Regards Sarah :)

Glad that you are finding the information you need :)

I am on Lantus and Humalog. Have been since I was diagnosed... I don't know if I could handle a pump... Having to have it in you all the time kinda freaks me out a little! lol.. I have been trying to cut down on my carbs... It is just so difficult for me!!! lmao :) My other half is trying to help but when he puts dinner in front of me and it doesn't have carbs I get a little grumpy lol :D
