Hi everyone,

Since I have arthritis aswell as diabetes and many health conditions I spoke to to assessment nurse who took information about my arthritis I have to speak to phyisio on Thursday next week and also have a walking stick because of my balance issues and my knee keeps collapsing I only walked 2 steps and my knee went forward and very weak.

Will I be able to choose a walking stick I don't like the aluminum ones at all.

I am still trying to loose more weight but
It's very hard when you have lots of conditions.
What else can I do that will help apart from walking I don't like going into cold
Water makes me feel worse but I do love swimming.

Hello, @Sparklebright62
I have limited mobility due to spine injury and arthritis, too. Not been able to go to a swimming pool this last year, but chair based exercises at home helpbwith mobility.

As for the walking stick, you can take advice from the physio or occupational therapist, and buy your own. They are not too expensive. Some examples of stockists:

It is important to get the height of the walking stick right. Also, the handle needs to be comfortable to hold, and spread the load , particularly if you also have arthritic hands.
