Hi tees and welcome to the forum. :D

Poor you, what a dreadful time you and your family have been having recently and now you also have to get to grips with your health. What a blessing for you that you have a chance to do this.

You ask what to eat for breakfast but it might be easier if we turn it back to you and ask what you are eating at present. If you give the information then someone will be along fairly quickly with some advice. 8)

Hi and thanks for the welcome :D My normal day would be a coffee on a morning go out to work delivering parcels come home and have another coffee then back out to work once my children are in from school as i clean in a school on a evening and finish at 6pm then that is when i have a meal. I know this is n ot the right way but its how i am and why i find it hard to have something during the day.Can i ask what everyone else does and what meals they have.
thanks Joanne

As you are asking I guess you probably already know that what you are doing has to change don’t you? I expect you know that you won’t get much goodness out of coffee. You probably also know that eating once only in the evening is not doing you much good either!?

Well that all sounds to me as if you need to start your changes by eating little and often as you need to keep your BG as level as you can.

Many of us, and I am one, have to keep the carbohydrate content down to stop my BG levels going sky high so for breakfast I have things like bacon and egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs, omelette, smoked haddock, kipper, cold meats, cheeses, fruits and yoghurts.
Amongst other things for lunch I have home made soups, sometimes the things I have already listed above and salads.

The main thing is to test before you eat and 2 hours afterwards so that you know what your food is doing to your BG levels and then adjust accordingly. Some of us can manage more carbohydrate than others but you will only find out what is right for you if you test.

What do you enjoy eating and what do you have for your dinners at the moment?
