Hi, wanting to travel to australia

I have type 1 diabetes, I have just been granted a Visa to travel to aus for a year, I was wondering if anyone could help me out at all, do i need to register myself with a doctor before i go? and will i be best to just take a butt load of insulin with me or is it relitively cheap to buy over there anyway. Thanks for any help guys and gals
