please advise. My sugar levels fine. Fasting under 5. Two hours after meals between 4 and 5. I am on Metformin 850 to be taken twice daily. I don't. I take one 850 Metformin and cut it in half - hence am taking 425mg twice daily. I am dealing with the State Health Department. I have insisted they reduce my medication to either 500 Metformin slow release and take one in morning or 500 Metformin normal, twice daily. Which tablet is better? One slow release or two normal? Thank you

Hi. If you don't have stomach problems then two normal should be fine (and cheaper). The Slow Release is used mainly to avoid stomach/bowel issues and is less critical when you take it. Your readings indicate you may not need Metformin at all?
