Im tracey i've been a type 1 diabetic for 27 years, at the moment abit fed up with it as have done everything to try and stop hypos (every other day) i.e lower insulin, change eating times etc without any luck, but i suppose it part and parcel of the condition. Just been referred to a consultant as my diabetic nurse said i fit the critiria for a insulin pump so fingers crossed.

The insulin pumps are brilliant i have not heard a bad word about them what it is is a small devise that you attach to you that delivers small amounts of insulin into you 24/7 so no you don't need to inject no more, some of them even do your sugars readings so many times aday. The only thing is that you have to fit a critiria to be referred for one i.e lots of low/hypos high HBC1A's and you have be showing that you controlling your diabetes there are a number of websites that explain about them one being Diabetes U.K, maybe have a look on this forum under Insulin Pumps there are loads of people who are on them at the moment or going onto them its worth looking into. My diabteic nurse told me that its like having a artificial pancreas and they also can increase your life span.
