Hi I’m type 1 diabetic I had it since I was 4 so I have lived with it for a lot of my life I am now 24 and want to chat to people. With it and how u cope with it

Hi welcome ! I’ve been T1 for 43 years and like you have probably seen a few changes , personally it’s now just a way of life , I’m use to it, I don’t worry about it , I just deal with any issues as and when they come along, it definitely helps to be positive , being on this forum definitely helps as you can guarantee your not alone in anything that’s going on , as people here are great to share experiences and advice , and diabetes is all about having a bit of both ,

I was diagnosed a week after my first birthday and I am 27 now so like you I've had it for basically all my life. A few years ago I completely fell off the wagon, stopped doing my blood sugars, I still took my insulin but I was high more times than I wasn't. I was most definitely suffering with burnout. I think with the support of my team and being offered a hybrid closed loop as part of the NHS trial is ultimately what "saved" me. And through it all I've also been part of this forum, the support that I have had from everyone here who understands what I am going through has been extremely helpful and I always know if I'm having a problem someone here will probably have some solid advice to give.

Hi from an old hack of 56 who has been type 1 for 50 years.
Gosh i've seen some changes and the libre is the life changer for me.
I would give the 4mm needles a mention too as when i started the **** things were like harpoons to a 6 year old and i can still see myself practising on an orange!!

I wish you well.

Tony
