Hi again Janet and welcome.

Here is the advice we hand out to newly diagnosed Diabetic's which may be of benefit to you.....

You have come to the best place for support with a new diagnosis, no matter what type it is.

My advice (type 1), is to make moderate changes in lifestyle and diet etc, rather than making huge changes that will have a huge impact on physical and mental health a little further down the line. Take a step at a time, rather than trying to sprint a marathon all at once. None of us naturally like change, and diabetes can be a huge change-depending on previous lifestyles....

It is a huge thing to many, many persons to become diabetic, and HCP's only have limited time to spend with each patient. So the help and support from here is fantastic, so long as there is realisation that we speak from personal experiences rather than Medical Qualifications!!!!!

You will receive great help from this website, we have all had experiences of things that work and don't.....it is up to you to find out what your body accepts for you.

Wishing you success.....

Hi Janet

I'm new also, but awaiting further tests. This forum has been a lifeline and I hope you find the answers you're looking for, everyone seems really nice and the information here has been great.
