Hello everyone! My name is Jarvis and I was just diagnosed with type two diabetes yesterday. It really came as a surprise to me and my family. I am a avid weight lighter, so I am worried how being diagnosed with type two diabetes will affect my current lifestyle. Can I still take whey protein, pre-workout supplements? I am at a loss right now. Please any information will help me, thanks Jarvis.

Welcome to the forum Jarvis :)

A diagnosis of diabetes comes as a shock to us all, hopefully it won't impact too much on your lifestyle and you can continue with your weight lifting, sorry don't know about those supplements so will leave that for someone else to answer.

Hi Jarvis welcome to the forum. I see you are on medication. If you live in the UK you are entitled to a blood glucose meter. Use it to see what food raises your blood glucose the reduce or eliminate that from your diet. Its carbohydrates that are the problem. I think whey is high in protein And lowish carbs.

Hi Welcome :)

im no expert on weight lifting but i use the whey protein powders in recipes so i guess they are ok, but it is guess im afraid, ive read on the forum about people being weight lifters so im sure it works fine with diabetes, hopefully one will pass by, best of luck
