High BG Levels

Hi all,

For the past few days, I've been feeling quite ill. Monday I was sent home from work after a mid-morning reading was 20.5 mmol (got sent to NHS walk-in who prescribed me an additional medicine), and my readings for the past few days have fluctuated between 12 - 19 mmol.

I'm on 2000mg Metformin Hydrochloride and 30mg Pioglitazone, and controlling via diet and exercise.

Yet I'm still feeling like ****...

I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow, but I need to let work know of the situation.

Any help much appreciated.

It's good to hear that you are seeing your GP about this.

With levels that high I am not surprised you are feeling awful. Was your control previously good or were your levels high always ? This could be a bug of some sort as any infection can seriously affect Bg levels. Just had the same thing happen to myself. Not as high as you though.
