Hi Ladies,

For the last year I have been off of my contraceptive pill as I wanted a break.

I have noticed a pattern, in or around the time of menstruating my BG seems to run higher? Just wondered if hormones affect anyone else monthly?

Absolutely. It is common (and often discussed) that monthly hormones affect blood sugars.
Some women find the rise starts before the bleeding, some on the first day.
It is not unusual to have a different basal dose for this time of the month which is one reason why Tresiba can be less well suited to women.

Definitely! I experienced different patterns over the years, firstly my sugars went up the week before and dropped to normal when my period started, then years later my sugars stayed the same before my period but dropped when it started. You'll soon start to see patterns, if you're able to adjust your basal, as In Response suggests, it will help.
