Diet sounds pretty good overall. Maybe cut down a little on potatoes ? See if this helps. If not, maybe speak to your doc. Good luck.Thank you! i think the man problem is i skip dinner as im working at that time! i would normally grab a slice of toast before work! dinner prob would be a bag of crisps tea varies daily but thinking about it i prob do eat to much potatoes as we have roast dinners in the week chips, or pasta! but always oven cooked! i eat cabbage and broccoli! i like raw carrotts! i eat fish once or twice a week! chicken lamb pork or beef with roast! i dont eat much bread only a slice in morning! tend not to eat rice often! like oranges and kiwis! and grapes!
hiya thank you for your comment! is any nuts ok to eat? i have the ones in shell beginning with p? unsalted ones tho! i always eat wholegrain bread! i will read the forum now thank you so much!Hi, the toast, poataoes, crisps, chips, pasta, oranges and grapes all push your blood glucose up,
the meat, fish and veg are great
some nuts instead of the crisps, some berries instead of other fruit, if you must eat pasta make sure its wholemeal pasta, the slice of toast should be wholegrain (something like burgen soya and linseed if you can get it) lots of vegetables (vegetables that grow about ground are best as they have less starch), salad is terrific, cheese is awesome,
carbohydrates in general turn into glucose once digested (as far as your blood is concerned you may as well be eating sugar as to be eating carbs) have a read of the forum about how people eat, its a huge subject, too much to say it all
best of luck, ask questions
One of the best diets I found was one from the Mayo Clinic. You multiply your weight x10, that's how many calories it takes to maintain your current weight. If you cut back 500 calories per day you should lose 1 lb. per week. My husband lost around 25# on this. He also exercised after breakfast and after supper on a stationary bicycle. He lost more than 1 lb. per week. Good luck! Hope all goes well......JuliaI knew to this and a bit shy! i have type2 but can never get my sugar levels right im a housekeeper in a car home so always on the go cleaning 40rooms a day plus doing laundry!! but my sugar levels are always above 10?? i take one gliclazide a day 80mg! normally taking it in morning around 8am! i finish work at 2pm and normally around 5 go for a walk with my little boy to try and get blood sugar down a bit! i eat veg and fruit but not alot! i dont really know what i should be eating as my doctor hasnt really said much other then cut down on sweet things! im trying to lose weight aswell but i dont seem to be losing or gaining anything no matter what i try? can any suggest a good way to shift weight? and let me know what diet i should be following please! thank you
