High blood sugars in hot weather?

Hi I've been type 1 diabetic for 25 years, generally well controlled. When the weather is hot like it is now or when I go abroad my blood sugars go to pot. Always high, up in the 17 + when the food I've eaten would only require 4 units of insulin. Does this happen to anyone else x

Hi and welcome to the forum @Guy000fish:)

I'm completely the opposite, warm/hot weather means a reduction in insulin usage, but it just goes to show how individual we all are.

Hi there
I am like you -- this past week has seen me struggling to keep bloods below 10 much of the day
I am on a pump but this is the first hotter weather I have had to deal with and bolus doses have increased as well as basal rates needing tweaking-- so you are not alone

welcome to the forum too :)
