High blood sugars without eating?!

I have been struggling for many months now due to several emotional/financial stresses this year, have been off the rails for a while but now I am an absolute train crash. Some of my stresses have been resolved but some are still ever present. I know I have to take charge of myself but at present I am finding it too difficult but then because of that my weight is going up even more along with my sugars. I have not been this out of control for quite some time and now find myself in a very vicious circle.

What I wanted to ask in particular today is as my numbers were high this morning I thought I would take my insulin and eat later on but the numbers did not come down - is this normal? I am on Humalog 25 which is a mixed insulin. I was actually hoping I could take my insulin and not eat to try and kick my body :( .

Advice gratefully received :)

I am type 2 and have found stress has a real effect on your bg,ie increasing it.I think you really need to target the stress and hopefully your levels will return to normal, sorry I cant give any better advice than that.Talking about you problems with someone close will hopefully help, good luck.
