Hi and welcome,

Yes, your blood sugars are high, particularly in view of the strong medication you are on. Is this a new trend, or have they always been high? What was your last HbA1c? When are you doing your finger prick tests?

It may well be your diet that is keeping your levels high. Diet is the key to control. Medication just helps a bit. Perhaps if you tell us what you typically eat in a day we may be able to spot something.

Tagging @daisy1 who will post some information for you. Welcome to the forum.

Hi I don't eat sweets or anything like that I don't eat much carbs and I read the labels on everything my last hba1c was 8.9 xxx

I'm afraid your photo of that app means nothing to me.
Do you eat rice, potatoes, pasta, bread and breakfast cereals?
Do you eat fruit?
Do you drink fruit juice or fruit smoothies?

An HbA1c of 8.9 is high. It means your average blood sugars are 11.6mmol/l which will not be doing your body any good at all. You need to get this down. You can use your meter to help you. Try this:
Test immediately before you eat
Test again 2 hours after your first bite
Look at the rise from before to after eating
It needs to be under 2mmol/l. Preferably a lot less.
If it isn't, there are too many carbs in that meal.

You could keep a proper food diary including portion sizes and record your levels alongside. This way you will see which foods are your danger foods, which you need to reduce, and which you need to eliminate.

No I don't eat potatoes or rice yes I eat fruit now and again I'm really carful off what I eat I check labels on everything I drink a lot off water and water with lemon and lime xxx

Are you going to try the suggestions I made about testing meals?

It may well be you need to see your doctor for a medication review.

Then if I were you I would see your doctor as soon as possible as it seems you need a medication review

Are you type 2 or type 1 ?. I'm asking because I was told I was type 2 and my levels were like yours sometimes over 20.

Went back to doctors at end of July there and now I'm type 1. Changed from metformin to injections and now down to middle 4's and low 7's

Ask to be referred to the diabetic specialist at the hospital . All doctors will do is take blood tests
