Hi,

I have been type one nearly a year now and have been doing really good !

Recently my bloods have shot up ! Between 9-18 I am tiered ,I can't concentrate I have head aches and I feel out of control !

Are these symptoms normal? What other thing do you guys suffer with when you get high blood sugar ?

Thanks

completely normal with those sorts of blood sugar levels.
I get completely lethargic above 11 or so.

have you contacted your DSN ( diabetic specialist nurse ) -- best bet -- please do it today :)

also some other thoughts -- if you have a cold or an infection your bloods can rise , or if under more stress at work or home life.

keep posting and let us know how you get on.

all the best !!

Have you been taught how to adjust your insulin? If not get on the phone and ask for help. I would guess that as you are a year in your honeymoon period has ended IE your pancreas has coughed and spluttered it last remaining insulin so you need to inject more to compensate.

Just looked you are on MDI, so you need to check your basal insulin to see how that's doing.
Do ring your DSN though so you know what you need to do.

Hi - i'm experiencing the same at the moment so fully sympathise with you, am also feeling tired and can't concentrate. I am increasing my basal to see if this will bring it down, but to be honest it feels like my body is just insulin resistant. I am also trying metformin slow release but already getting a poorly tum from this.

As suggested above, illness can wreak havoc with your BG, so are you feeling ok otherwise ?

I keep trying to remember that this is only temporary but am worn down with it now..

Yes, that's how it makes me feel too, and I suspect everybody.

You'll have to tackle it - basal test first, then up your bolus doses a bit. Trial and error! You'll get it fixed. Just don't stay at those levels, not good for you.
