High Bloods readings TP2

High blood,

After 5 suffering for 5 years with high blood readings being told to take more , take less having too much insulin in my systems, readings not below 25 and as high as off the meter constantly, being taken into hospital three years ago and put on an insulin pump which took my reading down to 7.5 for the week I was in hospital, I was out for a week and they shoot up off the scale again no matter how much insulin I took. Just cam out of hospital again as I was taken to lower my readings for two days in a tone that blamed me. put on and insulin infusin after two days still in the mid 20s so they kept me in for a week the lowest reading came down to 7.5 one day only over night it went up too 21.6 so they put me on Byetta 5ug now upped to 10 twice a day) and levermir as well as 25 of Novo Rapid three times a day before meals.

Even when i dont eat it goes up.

So far you guessed it no change, over the years I now have no feeling in my feet and legs ane trouble with my stomach and no tingles in my hands and an aversion to bright light.

I was tols three years ago I would be put in for a pump, yep you guessed it becuase I am type2 they will not give me a pump the over at the time was over ruled becuase of Nice saying type 2 should not get pumps!!!!!1
So I continue to get worse, I am not best pleased and in pain.

Strickly speaking it's not NICE saying no to insulin pumps for type 2's, they haven't got any guidelines for T2 and pumps... It's the same with CGM's there isn't any guidelines covering this.. What it means in reality for us diabetics is that it is more difficult to push PCT's for these pieces of equipment..

There are several T2's that do use insulin pumps funded by the NHS, If I remember rightly this is via a consultant in Liverpool! I suggest that you take a look at the INPUT website, contact John who will be able to give you futher information and advice...

You would have to fight to get hold of a pump and take on your PCT but it is a battle that can be won though...

But for what you are saying, the treatment you've had so far hasn't worked, the question is, is this because are you really a type 2 diabetic? I would be asking your diabetic team, for GAD testing ect to determin that your diabetic status, as it is possiable that your are 1.5/LADA also called slow onset T1... Which would not only explain the lack of response to tablets ect, but also make fighting for the pump a bit easier..

It is even possible that you are suffering a double whammy, having both T1 and T2 diabetes
