hi
I have had a recent blood test my Ac1 and other bits and my crp came back at 5.7. This was flagged on the system as to high but my gp has not arranged to see me, well I booked in for Monday but I’m worrying I read online it’s a indication of heart disease. Has anyone had experience with a high crp? It did say it’s associated with high bs but my Ac1 is 39 so I don’t think that’s the case.

CRP is a marker for inflammation. Have you had an infection recently or suffer with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions?

I went to see my dr because there is rumatoid arthritis in my family and I’m suffering with stiff joints and pain in them but they did a ra factor blood test and it came back normal. Iv been ok health wise to.

As far as I know repeat tests for CRP are (or should be) standard just as in the repeat tests for HbA1c for diagnosis. This is because levels can sometimes fluctuate. I would guess that your GP will want to investigate further to find the site/cause of the inflammation. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
