High Dose Vit. B and Kidney disease.

Patients with diabetic nephropathy, (kidney disease caused by diabetes), who received high dose Vitamin B therapy experienced a more rapid decline in kidney function and had a higher rate of heart attacks and strokes than patients who received a placebo in this trial conducted to see if Vit. B therapy would slow the progression of the disease.

Yet another reason why nobody should take Vitamin supplements without getting the advice of their GP/ DSN / Consultant first. Not all that is made out to be good for us is always that.

Only those with a clear medical need should be taking Vitamin supplements of any sort as far as I am concerned. There can be consequences, as here, which are just not known about until it may be too late.
