I wonder if anyone can give me some idea as to what is happening to my crazy body?
Type 2, diagnosed 18 months ago. Taking 1000mg metformin twice a day.
Last Hba1c 2 weeks ago = 6.3 (from 6.4 six months ago)
Overall control over the last 15 months excellent. (Doctor's comment)
Prior to my latest check-up I began testing on a more regular basis as I felt I was beginning to understand how various foods affect my BG levels.
Prior to the check-up, pre-breakfast fasting levels were beginning to climb (mid sevens). The nurse commented that my fasting levels were on the high side, but didn't seem too concerned.
The last 2 mornings have been 9.0 and 8.8, which, for me, is very high.
This morning, two hours after breakfast (constant intake) my reading is 6.0, or back to a level I would expect pre-breakfast.
Can anyone give me any idea why my fasting levels are climbing and higher that post-food?
I am particularly worried as I have retinopathy, and strong control is important in retaining my eyesight.
