I took my BM before bed and it was 8.3 and woke up this morning and it has risen to 13.6.... anyone any thoughts on how to stop this from jumping up through night?

Hi @StephersJones welcome to the group.:) Lots can change your Bg readings through the night. If you have a bad nights sleep etc. Also could be what they call the Dawn Phenomenon this can also increase your levels. Its the liver dumping glucose into your system to help you start the day, thus putting your levels up.:)

Are you sure you're taking the right amount of basal? And are you testing before getting out of bed? My bg can rise from say, 6 to 12 in the 2 hours after getting out of bed (feet on the floor effect), so I inject for that upon waking.

I admit my readings are not that high, but I find the best way (for my T2 and Colitis) is to have a little supper. Something high in fibre and slow to digest, porridge is ideal for me. If I bed down with an 8, I'm usually down to mid 6 in the morning and it doesn't get any worse until after lunch.
