High Hbac1

My Hbac1 is quite high at 64, I need to get it down to at least 50 so that I can have knee surgery due to osteoarthritis.
I would welcome any help with doing this please.
Hi @Anitakt , welcome to posting on the forum.

How is your diabetes treated at the moment? Are you on medication, what types of food do you usually eat, do you use a glucose meter to see how different foods affect your numbers?

Hello @Anitakt , and welcome

Sorry if we seem like a nosy bunch, but we do need a little more to go on, as you might have already suspected from @Antje77 's reply. Not because we like to turn you inside-out, but when we give advice it could be something you're already doing, so it'd be moot, or it could clash with medication you're on, or other conditions you might have, or... You name it, we could botch it. If you can let us know as many details as possible, that'd help. Just daily meals/drinks, whether you're restricting carbs already, don't want to or do want help with that, what medication you're on (not just for diabetes)... Anything you can fill us in on, would be helpful.

Anyway, again, welcome, and I hope we'll be able to help, because you do need to get that surgery sorted! Hopefully we can assist you along that path.
Jo
